Website Fee's and Webmastering
Estimating the cost of project is multi-faceted. We have worked on projects for anywhere from $250-$2,000. Here are some things to consider.
- The more assistance you can be, the less the financial investment
- Will you email us your content, or will we be typing it
- Will you send us any pictures of your group, or will we need to take and/or scan them in
- Any video (virtual tours, demo, etc), will you send in web format or will we need to take and/or format it
- Graphics and Logos
- Do you have a logo or will we need create it
- Project Scope
- Practically every project shifts a little, but if it makes a big change from start, or major modules are added on then we will re-assess
- At what level will we serve
- Project Only - Create your property and fulfill your requests
- Project Plus Backup - After completion will we be retained to make early adjustments and monitor site for 3 months
- Project Plus Webmastering - Monitor servers, continually review for placement, make additions and changes, maintain current backup.
Webmaster Services
- If you already have a server and domain, then we will use it, as long as it fits the requirements of the project (php, subdomains, email, shopping, etc)
- Submitting website to search engines. We can submit your site to many search engines (couple hundred) or 5 Major (Yahoo, Google, Livesearch, Altivista, AOL or your choice).
- Setup email emails. We will setup two basic emails; Yours and Support, or as many as you want. Remember that you may need to change these if personalities change.
- Monitor your competition. Website placement is art/science and it is fluid. If your site does well, others will look to see what has been done and mimic it. Without monitoring, you can go from front page to page seven.
- Monitor your server. We use a particular company that has a 99.5% uptime
rate. ALL servers go down from time to time. A down server can mean loss
of business, or worse, the loss of your project.
- We have had companies hire us a project, then a year later their data was loss. We have gladly stepped in to get them back up
- Dependent on the amount and type of work you may desire for us perform the rates may run $40-$100 per month
Data Backup
Besides your project you may want your main computer to backup data and store it in private part of server, in an encrypted file. This is common and quite safe when done properly. This is a sound replacement or supplement to thumbdrive or CD backup that can go down. Plus we can set up to do automatically at night. Like anything else, it is prudent to weed the garden. It would be wise to occassionaly remove old data files and maintain the last 3 copies. Once setup, we can monitor this very inexpensively.
